Business Advisory with a Leadership Focus

Our future focussed approach to business growth is unique - informed by fact, driven by strategy and with the leader at the core. We support business owners to create and manage their business, and lead themselves and their teams.


How do we work?

Our business model incorporates a combination of financial reporting and compliance, strategic planning and problem solving, and business and leadership coaching.

Following an initial business review, we provide each client with an annual strategic plan; identifying the key areas of focus, prioritising the strategies and outlining the most effective actions to implement for the year ahead. We combine this with monthly or quarterly meetings which incorporate a blend of financial reporting and compliance, strategic planning, and business and executive coaching.

At each quarterly meeting we discuss your business’ financial position, ensure all compliance targets are met, listen to your current wins and challenges, and agree on the top 2-3 opportunities for you to prioritise over the next 3 months. At the end of the meeting we provide a summary of your business' financial position, and a 90-day action plan to address the key issues and opportunities to keep your business on track with your strategic goals.

It is our experience that the most well-considered, strategic business plan is only as effective as the skills and commitment of the people who implement it. Our embedding of monthly coaching into our service offering addresses the need to focus on not just the plan, but also on the skills and mindset of the people involved.

We provide expert advice and support across 3 key areas: financial management, business management, and self and other people management (profit, planning and people).


Who do we work with?

We work with small to medium business owners who are experiencing challenge, a time of growth, or change. In essence, all businesses!

Rather than being industry specific, we are people specific. We work with people who are keen to learn, open to change, and are willing to take action, with our support.


The Team

Our advisory team is a unique combination of accountants, business advisors and executive coaches.

Paul Tennant - Director. Paul is a qualified accountant, financial planner, and economist. He combines strategic planning and problem-solving with financial analysis, tax planning, feasibility study and scenario planning to help our clients make sound strategic decisions, manage risk and take advantage of opportunities - in the right way and at the right time.

Paul’s unique background gives him a different approach to other accountants. His analytic skills allow him to build advanced forecasting models that support our clients to make strong, confident business decisions. He also brings an in-depth understanding of how the economy works and how this impacts financial markets: allowing our clients to make decisions within the wider context of the economy in which their business operates.

With decades of working with people and their business, and a commitment to lifelong learning, Paul looks beyond the numbers to the business as a whole: whether this is creating a clear vision for the future, a plan to protect both the business and its people, a succession plan for life beyond the business, or getting clear and immediate financial strategies in place to support these goals.

Carolyn Tennant - Strategic Leadership Coach. Carolyn supports our clients with the all-important strategic, visioning and leadership aspects of running a business. Carolyn worked in allied health before undertaking business advisory training and then postgraduate study in personal and executive coaching.

Carolyn is a valued strategic guide for our clients. Using a structured framework of questioning and analysis, she helps business owners identify their values and tap into their vision, mission, and purpose. She works with our clients to create a strategic business plan, with key strategies and goals for the next 12 months, and then provides the support to implement the action.

After years of experience working with leaders and teams, Carolyn has seen that the success of any business is dependent on the quality of its leaders. To effectively manage and grow a business, its leaders also need to understand and manage their ‘inner worlds’: their beliefs, values, skills and confidence. This enables them to communicate, inspire and develop those around them.

Coaching can help you create a clear plan for your business, boost confidence in your own skills and help you retain skilled and engaged staff who bring their best self to work.
